Sony acknowledges backlash, “cautiously” moves ahead with end of PlayStation discs

Sony is moving forward with plans to end PlayStation disc production by January twenty twenty-eight, CFO Lin Tao said in an earnings call. The company cites the ongoing digitalization of game content as the biggest reason, among others. Sony says it carefully considered this shift and will proceed cautiously.
