Ars Technica reports Netflix is being sued after admitting an unencrypted drive containing an unreleased Nicolas Cage film was stolen from its offices. The film, called Fortitude, was the target of a production company lawsuit alleging Netflix waited a week to notify them of the theft, which involved other drives taken directly from Netflix desks. An investor had put forty-five million dollars into the movie. Netflix's director of original film, Sean Berney, later acknowledged the theft in an email to the production company after they'd made several unsuccessful attempts to retrieve the drives.
