Court hands NCAA major loss on new 5-for-5 rule

A federal court has blocked the NCAA's new eligibility rule in a major loss for the organization, ruling that high school Class of Twenty Twenty-Two athletes who exhausted their four years of college eligibility this spring now qualify for a fifth season. ESPN reports the injunction grants an additional year of eligibility to affected athletes, overturning the NCAA's so-called five-for-five rule.
