Greece fights fires near Athens

Evacuation orders went out Friday for areas west and northwest of Athens as new wildfires broke out near the Greek capital, France 24 reports. Firefighters are battling the flames, but winds of around fifty miles per hour have hampered water-bombing aircraft. Fires elsewhere in the country have been brought under control, though officials warn the risk of new outbreaks remains very high.
