Spanish PM calls for urgent EU meeting after ‘selfish’ responses to Ceuta crisis

The Guardian reports that more than fifty thousand people crossed into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta in North Africa on Thursday and Friday, with at least sixty-seven dying. Some drowned, others were crushed attempting to cross a breakwater barrier. Spain's prime minister, Pedro Sánchez, is calling for an urgent EU interior ministers meeting, criticizing some member states' 'selfish, polarising and unlawful reaction' to the crisis.
