Famed mountaineer Nirmal Purja confirmed dead in Pakistan avalanche

Nirmal Purja has died in an avalanche on Broad Peak in Pakistan, ABC News reports. The Nepali climber and former Gurkha soldier had set the record for the fastest ascent of all fourteen of the world's peaks above eight thousand meters.
