Trump climbs down on Iran strikes in expectation of ‘rapidly’ reaching a deal

Per The Guardian, President Trump said he cancelled planned military strikes against Iran, expecting to rapidly reach a deal on its nuclear program and open the Strait of Hormuz. The US president claimed the pause also responds to requests from Iran and other countries in the region.
