world
Half of England and the whole of Wales are now officially in drought, the Guardian reported on Sunday. July is set to become the driest month on record for the region, after four record-breaking heatwaves since May, intensified by climate change, have gripped the UK and Europe. This marks the third drought event in five years, with the heat fueling huge wildfires and leaving farmers, wildlife, and protected habitats running out of water.
