Britain could face food shortages as drought continues, farmers warn

As The Guardian reports, farms across Britain are facing a compounding agricultural crisis. Winter flooding made planting extremely difficult, and now parts of England are enduring a severe drought with irrigation restrictions in place. Wheat crops are only half their normal height, and farmers are racing through the earliest harvest ever recorded as they try to salvage what they can. The National Farmers' Union is warning that Britain could face shortages of certain foods as a result.
