Arizona Supreme Court: clergy don't have to report child abuse confessions
politics
The Arizona Supreme Court has ruled that clergy are not required to report child abuse confessions, Boing Boing reports. The case traces back to former U.S. Border Patrol agent Paul Adams, who sexually abused all six of his children for at least seven years before he was caught, and who later killed himself after being charged. Investigators found that bishops and other officials at the Church of Latter Day Saints had long been aware of the abuse.
