A 15th-century Persian book says what a snake sighting means

A fifteenth-century Persian manuscript called the Marnameh serves as a guide to interpreting snake sightings. Boing Boing reports that it divides the Zoroastrian calendar into thirty days—most named for a divinity or figure—and assigns an omen to each for encountering a snake. The text thus forms a calendar-based system of serpent divination from late medieval Persia.
