Teenager didn’t tell anyone Alan Jones allegedly kissed and touched him as he feared losing financial help, trial hears

Alan Jones, the eighty-five-year-old former 2UE and 2GB radio broadcaster, is on trial in Sydney facing twenty-two charges, to which he has pleaded not guilty. A former schoolboy athlete, identified in court as Complainant J, testified he didn't tell anyone that Jones was allegedly kissing and inappropriately touching him when he was a teenager, fearing he'd lose Jones's financial support. He alleged that after driving Jones to a function in Canberra, the two were alone in a hotel room where Jones kissed him in what he described as a 'smothering' way, and that Jones later increased his weekly stipend by one hundred dollars, telling him he didn't need to mention the money to anyone since it was 'a gift'.
