Zephyr on Raspberry Pi Zero 2W bare metal

Adafruit is reporting that a developer has added support for the Zephyr real-time operating system on the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, the budget single-board computer with just five hundred twelve megabytes of RAM. The work required custom interrupt controller drivers—the Zero 2 W lacks a standard generic interrupt controller, so the developer wrote drivers for both the ARM-local and peripheral controllers to handle timing and input-output events. The contribution has been released under an Apache 2 point zero open-source license with full documentation, bringing real-time operating system capabilities to one of computing's most economical platforms.
