Denying domestic violence allegations, Rep. Max Miller isn’t dropping his reelection bid

politics

Ohio Republican Congressman Max Miller says he won't drop his reelection bid, even as his own party grapples with abuse allegations from his ex-wife, Emily Moreno. Court documents from their divorce and custody battle allege Miller threw scalding water on her, held a gun to her head, and fractured their toddler daughter's collarbone — claims he vehemently denies, calling them exaggerated and responding with a defamation lawsuit against Moreno. The 19th reports that Moreno's father, Ohio Senator Bernie Moreno, broke his silence to say his former son-in-law "should not serve," making him one of the only Republicans to call for Miller's resignation. Republicans face a Wednesday deadline to decide whether to replace Miller on the ballot, while President Trump has said only that he's "going to look at it."
