Government contracts to require job creation instead of green targets under new rules

Firms will no longer need to demonstrate green and progressive values to win government work—instead, they must prove they'll help young people into jobs. This is part of an effort to reduce NEETs—people not in education, employment, or training. The shift affects roughly ninety billion pounds in annual taxpayer spending. While the government frames this as boosting regional growth, environmental groups are already opposing it.
