Ukraine live: Russian strikes kill at least 17 in Kyiv region, Zelensky says

Russian strikes hit Kyiv and the surrounding region overnight into Wednesday, killing at least seventeen people and wounding forty-four more, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, per France 24. The attack comes amid a broader escalation in long-range strikes from both sides, with Russia more than doubling its missile use in July. It follows a Tuesday strike on the Moscow region that killed at least five and wounded ten, as the intensified exchange of long-range attacks continues.
