Burnham not considering public inquiry into UK activities of Jeffrey Epstein

The Guardian reports that, despite claims to the contrary, Downing Street is not actively considering a public inquiry into Jeffrey Epstein's activities in the UK. Victims' minister Alex Davies-Jones had said on Wednesday that the prime minister was 'looking into' such an inquiry and taking the matter very seriously, but the Guardian understands no active push exists within Number 10. Separately, a public inquiry into the former Harrods owner Mohamed Al Fayed is also under consideration, according to the report.
