How we’re rethinking work at Cloudflare with Cloudflare OS
dev_tools
Cloudflare reports on how it built Cloudflare OS, an internal AI platform released on Wednesday. The trigger came when sales staff asked for production API keys to deploy an AI agent for their workflows. While Cloudflare had been cautious about AI through twenty twenty-five, better models shifted the equation, and employees began experimenting with agents company-wide. Leadership built Cloudflare OS around five core principles: use AI to serve customers better, give everyone superpowers not just engineers, keep humans accountable for AI output, prioritize organizational context over model size, and crucially, never let AI agents access more data than their users would manually. For engineers, they embedded the Engineering Codex into code review — agents now flag nearly a quarter million potential issues and block sixteen thousand merges. For non-engineers, a magic email alias lets employees send work to an AI bot for processing. Cloudflare is now making this platform available to other organizations.
