Son-in-law of Russian Aerospace Forces Commander Alexander Chayko killed in Moscow restaurant blast
world
A homemade bomb ripped through Balzi Rossi, an upscale Italian restaurant in Moscow, on August 1st, killing five people and injuring nineteen more. Meduza reports that Daniil Peredriy, son-in-law of Russian Aerospace Forces Commander Alexander Chayko, was among the dead, according to leaked government data reviewed by independent outlet Agentstvo. Chayko, who had been celebrating his birthday at the restaurant and took over the Aerospace Forces command in May, was previously known for leading Russia's 2022 offensive in the Kyiv region. Russia's Foreign Ministry has blamed Ukraine for the attack, a claim Rome has rejected and Kyiv has not addressed, and no one has formally claimed responsibility.
