Putin has reshuffled Russia’s military command. Here’s what you need to know.

Vladimir Putin has reshuffled top ranks across Russia's Defense Ministry, according to Meduza. Colonel General Denis Lyamin now leads the Unmanned Systems Forces, a drone-focused branch Putin admitted is still not fully formed despite a December announcement that it was complete. Colonel General Valery Solodchuk, previously head of the Tsentr grouping and accused of involvement in the 2022 Bucha killings, takes over the ministry's rear services, which Putin said would now be consolidated under one command. Andrey Ivanayev and Pyotr Bolgarev also move up to lead the Tsentr and Vostok groupings, respectively, as Putin framed the changes as reflecting lessons from the war in Ukraine.
