Google is ending support for Google Assistant on Android, per Ars Technica, with the shutdown beginning September fourth. The company will force all users over to Gemini, affecting not just phones but also smartwatches, headphones, and cars with Android Auto. The transition may stretch over several weeks to complete, as Google had originally targeted late twenty twenty-five but delayed to shore up Gemini's capabilities first.
