Alan Jones’s alleged victim denies ‘fabricating’ claims against broadcaster during robust cross-examination

A former student sports star has denied fabricating indecent assault allegations against broadcaster Alan Jones, telling a Sydney court under cross-examination that he did not invent the claims after losing his police job and falling on hard times. Jones's defence barrister suggested during the exchange that the complainant had a financial motive to report the alleged assaults two decades after they were said to have occurred. The Guardian reports that Jones, eighty-five, has pleaded not guilty to twenty-two charges, and the trial is continuing.
