politics
A federal parliamentary inquiry into racism, hate and violence directed at First Nations people has heard that the rise of Pauline Hanson's One Nation party is fueling racism, The Guardian reports. At hearings in Melbourne, a former AFL inclusion manager testified that Hanson's conduct is encouraging people to use "similar behaviour and words", while prominent Indigenous journalists warned the inquiry that 1970s-style racism "is back". The inquiry continues to hear from prominent personalities and sporting groups about their own experiences of racism, discrimination, violence and harm across Australia.
