UN warns drone attacks have become leading cause of civilian death in Sudan

world

The United Nations says drone attacks are now the leading cause of civilian death in Sudan, responsible for eighty percent of civilian casualties in the first four months of twenty twenty-six. France 24 reports the country has been mired in war since April twenty twenty-three, pitting the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces against the Sudanese military. The conflict monitoring group Armed Conflict Location and Event Data puts the death toll at over fifty-nine thousand, though aid groups say the real number is likely much higher.
