Senate panel votes to hold Fauci in contempt of Congress over Covid hearing

A Republican-controlled Senate committee voted to hold Dr. Anthony Fauci in contempt of Congress, The Guardian reports, after he invoked the fifth amendment dozens of times during questioning about the pandemic response. Fauci, who led the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for thirty-eight years before retiring in twenty twenty-two, cited constitutional rights when declining to provide clarifying answers.
