Phantomdrive Keeps Your Secrets Out of Sight

Phantomdrive, per Hackaday, is an open-source USB flash drive with a hidden, encrypted secondary filesystem. The data remains invisible to your operating system under normal circumstances, and decryption happens on the drive itself using AES-256 encryption—not on your computer. To unlock it, the firmware monitors write operations for a trigger keyword: the word 'password' followed by your decryption key. Once you provide the correct key, the hidden data appears as a new drive. The creator, Ryan Walker, stresses the device has never been professionally audited and should be treated as experimental—probably fine for everyday privacy, but with no guarantees against determined adversaries.
