Why Max Miller is staying in (for now)
politics
Ohio Congressman Max Miller says he won't resign amid domestic abuse allegations from his ex-wife involving their two-year-old daughter — allegations he denies. As Axios tells it, quitting would look, in his mind, like an admission of guilt, even as fellow Republicans, including his ex-father-in-law, Senator Bernie Moreno, call for him to step aside. House Speaker Mike Johnson has called the allegations serious but says the House Ethics Committee process should run its course first. Republicans privately expect Miller to drop his reelection bid by week's end, with Ohio's August tenth deadline to name a replacement candidate now looming.
