Court says Meta must pay $806m for harming children's mental health

A New Mexico court has ordered Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, to pay eight hundred and six million dollars over harm the platforms caused to young people's mental health. The five hundred sixty-seven million U.S. dollar figure translates to that amount locally, ABC News reports. The case adds to a growing wave of legal scrutiny over how social media platforms affect teen wellbeing.
