A severe drought across Europe is revealing century-old secrets. Per France 24, water levels on the Danube—Europe's second-longest river—have plunged so dramatically this summer that the hulls of dozens of German warships from World War Two are now surfacing, while the remains of an ancient mammoth were uncovered in Romania. The crisis extends beyond archaeology: fishing boats are stranded near the Rhine in Germany, and sections of France's Loire River have partially dried up.
