William Orbit, the British music producer known for his dreamy, propulsive sound, has died at the age of sixty-nine. The Guardian reports he died at home on July twenty-third, according to a statement from family and friends posted on his social media; no cause of death was given. Orbit's work shaped some of pop's biggest records, including Madonna's Ray of Light, Blur's 13, and All Saints' chart-topping singles Pure Shores and Black Coffee.
