Trump hits a wall on voter fraud

politics

According to Axios, President Trump's push to crack down on voter fraud is running into legal and legislative obstacles just months before November's midterm elections. This week, federal courts in Washington and Boston blocked his executive orders requiring citizenship verification for voter registration. The administration says it will appeal—cases could eventually reach the Supreme Court. Separately, the Senate is refusing to pass the SAVE America Act, Trump's legislative version of the same requirement, despite his threats to veto other bills. Senate Republicans say they don't have the votes. All this, despite actual voter fraud being rare—yet the administration has made rooting it out a priority, with federal agents now accessing state voter rolls.
