Lebanon ‘detains’ former al-Assad-era general, weighs handing him to Syria

Al Jazeera reports that a former Syrian general from the Assad era has been detained in Lebanon. According to judicial and security sources, the arrest occurred during a routine embassy visit to Beirut. Lebanese authorities are now considering whether to extradite him to Syria.
