Mir Raza Ali case: Family, lawyer allege 25-year-old was murdered after torture
world
The family of Mir Raza Ali, a twenty-five-year-old Karachi businessman who owned the eatery Wafflix, is alleging he was tortured and murdered rather than dying by suicide, according to Dawn. Family lawyer Jibran Nasir said a newly exhumed medical examination found a fractured nose, a broken hyoid bone, and other injuries consistent with strangulation and beating, alongside a gunshot wound to the back. Raza went missing on July 28th and was found dead the next day near Gulistan-i-Jauhar; his family says police pushed a suicide narrative for over a week before a court ordered the body exhumed. A reconstituted medical board's fuller report is expected to determine whether the case is formally treated as murder.
