Wildfires force 20,000 to flee as British Columbia declares state of emergency

British Columbia has declared a provincial state of emergency as more than one hundred wildfires burn across the region, forcing twenty thousand people from their homes. Premier David Eby says nearly half those fires are out of control amid hot, windy conditions and prolonged drought, PBS NewsHour reports.
