According to France 24, a French court has ordered TotalEnergies to account for carbon emissions released when its customers use the fuel it sells. In a landmark decision, the court applied France's Corporate Duty of Vigilance law to climate responsibility for the first time. The ruling came after environmental group Notre Affaire à Tous brought the case to court, meaning TotalEnergies can no longer exclude customer emissions from its climate plan.
