GOP may be stuck with Rep. Max Miller in Ohio

politics

Ohio Republicans appear to have missed their last chance to swap out Rep. Max Miller before November. Axios reports Miller let Saturday's withdrawal cutoff pass, and his campaign says the two-term congressman will stay on the ballot despite domestic-abuse allegations from his ex-wife, Emily Moreno, daughter of Sen. Bernie Moreno, which he denies and is suing over. The House Ethics Committee is now investigating, and per Axios, without a timely withdrawal, party officials have no apparent path to certify a replacement by Monday's deadline. That leaves Miller facing Democrat Brian Poindexter in a district Trump carried by double digits in each of the last three elections.
