Police form new team to probe Mir Raza Ali's case; murder charge added to FIR

Karachi police have reconstituted the investigation team probing the death of twenty-five-year-old businessman Mir Raza Ali, and formally added a murder charge to the case, Dawn reports. The move follows a second postmortem conducted after his body was exhumed, which contradicted the initial autopsy and found he had been shot in the back — evidence the family's lawyer says rules out suicide. The case was originally filed only under kidnapping charges after Ali went missing on July twenty-eighth and was found dead in bushes days later. A new five-member team has now been ordered to conduct a comprehensive, day-to-day reported investigation into the case.
