Middle East crisis live: Netanyahu rejects US’s Gaza plan and vows no withdrawal until Hamas disarms

The Guardian reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected a fifteen-point Gaza plan endorsed by U.S. President Donald Trump and Hamas, vowing Israel will not withdraw from Gaza until Hamas is genuinely disarmed. The rejection signals continued impasse in negotiations over the war's end. Separately, Iran's president says he believes now is the best time for an agreement with the United States, claiming Iran is victorious in the current conflict. Those diplomatic signals stand in sharp contrast to escalating military tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, where the UAE reported Iran attacked a carrier affiliated with the UAE's state oil company with a missile. A second vessel caught fire after being struck by an unknown projectile, with no injuries reported. U.S. Central Command says it has allowed over thirty ships through for humanitarian aid since the blockade began, while turning away fifty-three others.
