Houthi attacks kill 11 in Yemen, target Saudi oil refinery

Renewed fighting in Yemen turned deadly on Sunday, with Houthi missile and drone strikes on the port city of Mokha killing at least eleven people, Dawn reports. A medical source told AFP the dead included three civilians and eight soldiers, with thirty-two more wounded. The same day, a fire broke out at Saudi Aramco's Jazan refinery on the Red Sea coast, which the Houthis claimed as a strike in retaliation for Saudi drone incursions into northwest Yemen; Saudi crews brought the blaze under control with no injuries reported. The attacks come as a years-long truce in Yemen's civil war has collapsed and the Houthis pursue a declared maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia, prompting Riyadh to organize a multinational naval coalition that Pakistan and thirteen other countries have backed.
