Sindh govt decides judicial commission to probe Mir Raza Ali murder case

The Sindh government is forming a judicial commission, to be led by a Sindh High Court judge, to investigate the killing of twenty-five-year-old businessman Mir Raza Ali, Dawn reports. Ali's body was found last month in Karachi's Gulistan-i-Jauhar a day after he was reported missing, and while police initially explored suicide, a second postmortem found he had been shot in the back, ruling that out. A murder charge has now been added to the case, and a new five-member police team has been formed to investigate. The family's lawyer alleges Ali was tortured before being killed and says they have no faith in the original investigating team.
