Iran has named a new head of its top national security body. The Straits Times reports the appointee is a seventy-one-year-old former military commander who previously led the Revolutionary Guards from nineteen eighty-one to nineteen ninety-seven, a tenure spanning nearly the entire Iran-Iraq War.
