A British national has been shot dead in Pakistan-administered Kashmir during clashes between security forces and protesters, the Guardian reports. The man, named as fifty-year-old Mohammad Akhtar of Peterborough, was killed in the unrest, and the Guardian notes a separate British national has been held in a regional prison for more than two months despite family efforts to secure his release through the Foreign Office.
