Two workers were temporarily stood down after near-miss collision at Sydney Airport

At Sydney Airport, a Jetstar plane narrowly avoided hitting a Qatar Airways aircraft that was pulled across the runway in front of it. The Guardian reports that the near-miss prompted two workers to be stood down. Australia's Transport Minister Catherine King has called the incident and preceding airport delays unacceptable. King met with the chief executive of Airservices Australia to discuss the situation, with improved staff rostering expected to begin at the airport next month.
