Voting is underway in the third phase of Azad Jammu and Kashmir's elections, with Pakistan's Election Commission classifying most of the 803 polling stations across Bagh and Haveli as sensitive or highly sensitive. Dawn reports over ten thousand troops have been deployed alongside police to keep the vote free of violence, as the Pakistan Peoples Party continues alleging rigging by the PML-N, including blocked roads, removed polling agents, and even gunfire at one station. The stakes are personal for AJK's sitting prime minister, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, and two of his predecessors, all fighting for their political survival at the ballot box today. Polling in the region's remaining constituencies could follow by August twentieth or twenty-first.
