Per The Guardian, Central and Eastern Europe is experiencing record-breaking heat in early August. Austria recorded forty-one point two degrees Celsius—one hundred six point two Fahrenheit—while Slovakia reached forty-two point two degrees. Hungary hit forty-one point eight degrees, breaking a temperature record set in nineteen oh five. Some areas saw overnight lows above twenty-eight degrees, creating unusually warm nights. The extreme heat is being driven by a heat dome trapped beneath a high-pressure system.
