Late night terrorist attack on Upper Swat police post foiled: DPO

Police in Upper Swat repelled a late-night assault after more than a dozen militants surrounded the Chatkekal post near Jarogo Waterfall and opened fire from all sides, according to Dawn. Officers returned fire, driving the attackers back, and initial reports indicate two of the assailants were wounded. District Police Officer Mushtaq Ahmad credited the personnel's quick response, saying the force wouldn't be demoralized by what he called a cowardly attack. It comes a week after a suicide bombing near Kabal Police Station killed seventeen people, including seven policemen, during a protest against lawlessness in the same district.
