Researchers at the University of Manchester have discovered that urban canals can reduce nearby temperatures by more than two degrees Celsius during heat waves. Per Phys.org, the finding highlights how existing water infrastructure in cities could help combat the dangerous temperatures that increasingly accompany summer heat events.
