Pak-Saudi-Turkiye defence pact ‘entirely for defensive purposes’, not aggression

According to Dawn, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey signed a trilateral defense agreement on August seventh, the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, establishing that an attack against one would be treated as an attack against all. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who signed the pact alongside Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said on Monday that the agreement is 'entirely for defensive purposes' and aimed at promoting peace and prosperity in the region. The arrangement builds on a bilateral defense pact Pakistan and Saudi Arabia established in September twenty twenty-five, and decades of defense arrangements between Pakistan and Turkey.
