New investigation team initiates formal proceedings into Mir Raza Ali murder

A new investigation team appointed by Sindh's police chief has begun formal proceedings into the murder of Wafflix eatery owner Mir Raza Ali, after a second post-mortem contradicted the first. Dawn reports the fresh autopsy found multiple injuries and a gunshot entry wound in the back, ruling out the suicide theory investigators had initially pursued. Ali's family and their lawyer met the new team this week, and Sindh's home minister said a judicial commission has been deferred after the family voiced confidence in the reconstituted police unit. Two officers were also suspended for failing to secure the crime scene, as the case now moves to a different police station for further investigation.
