Iran supreme leader names IRGC General Abdollahi military chief

Iran's Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has completed his first major military reshuffling, Middle East Eye reports. Major General Ali Abdollahi now leads the armed forces as chief of staff, while Major General Ahmad Vahidi has taken command of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Abdollahi previously oversaw Khatam al-Anbiya, the central military command coordinating operations across all service branches. The appointments represent Khamenei's consolidation of authority following his father's death in US-Israeli strikes.
